Starting Out

Introducing my first guest blogger…

Hello. How do you do. I’m not sure if you can tell, but I’m new around here. Before coming here I spent 9 months at this great place called The Womb – all you can eat and very cosy. It was a great starter home, but by the time I left, I had rather run out of space. So I made the journey here, to my new home. I have to say, it’s not a journey I’d like to make again. It took over 16 hours and was SO cramped. It all got a bit scary towards the end as well. But eventually I made it and now here I am.

I don’t want to save you

Nearly 11 years ago I went to Soul Survivor with my future husband and his youth group.  It struck me then how lucky I was that my boyfriend was a Christian, and I’m often glad that I’m married to a Christian.  I love that I get to share my faith with him.  I’m also lucky that I’ve got a wonderful group of friends who know this same God, and that we can share our faith together.

Of course, I’ve also got friends and family members who aren’t Christians.  I wonder sometimes if there is a perception that Christians are always out to convert our non-Christian friends and family.  Continue reading “I don’t want to save you”

Please and Thank You

Recently I’ve been asking God for a lot.  Like, all the time.  I ask that baby might go to sleep, that he might feed nicely in public, that he might stay asleep long enough for me to get more than 3 words into a blog post…  I ask for strength when the night has been short, for willpower to do some exercise, for calm when things are piling up.  At numerous points throughout the day I’m throwing little one-liner prayers up to God.
